Cycling News | Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol 2015

Early season racing is underway for the pro peleton, and so far it has not disappointed. The Ruta Del Sol has given us something to set the stage this season. Chris Froome and Alberto Contador battled it out head to head on back to back stages in Spain. Froome bested the Spaniard in his home country on Stage Four of the race at the top of Alto de Allanadas. The stage the day before seemed to show Chris’s weakness when Alberto managed to put 27 seconds between Froome at the finish line. Both stages ended on the tops of very difficult climbs, but Stage Four ended with Froom gaining all 27 of those precious seconds back on Alberto and dealing him the final blow by one second, which would allow Chris to win the overall jersey for the entire race.

If you have not been paying attention to the early season races this year check out Stage 3 highlights presented by CyclingHub.tv where Alberto Contador throws down the gauntlet and races to the top coming in 27 seconds before Froome.

Next check out Foome’s response on Stage 4 of the race where Team Sky puts on a clinic sending multiple attacks up the road before Froome motors his way to the finish to take the lead and the race leader’s jersey away from Alberto.

This race isn’t the only one that has provided some early season drama. The tour of Dubai and Tour of Oman have offered their fair share of early season victory celebrations as well. This season is shaping up as a good one.
